Frank Everett Neville was born Aug. 4, 1932 in what is now Raleigh to Frank Roger Neville and Eliza Jackson Neville. He graduated from Cary High School and later entered Campbell University. However, his studies and career plans were cut short by his enlistment in the United States Army during the Korean War. He returned home from the war and obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Thereafter, he was hospitalized with tuberculosis for well over a year. Upon his recovery, he entered into and graduated from Southeastern Theological Seminary and began a lifetime of service and ministry with his wife, Lorraine Tarlton Neville, whom he married Aug. 31, 1962.
He first served as the pastor of Kennebec Baptist Church and subsequently Riegelwood Baptist Church where he was pastor for 18 years. He and Lorraine had their three children, Everett, Thomas and Kelly during his time there. He then served and retired from Westfield Baptist Church, located in Dunn, North Carolina, after an 18-year tenure. While at Westfield Baptist Church, he earned a doctorate of Ministry from Drew University. Upon retirement from Westfield Baptist Church and the death of Lorraine Feb. 26, 1995, he served as a hospice chaplain with Harnett County.
Frank subsequently married Gail Yoder, who had also lost her first love and spouse to cancer. Frank and Gail had many wonderful years together; Gail having only recently preceded him in death.
Frank is survived by his three children Everett (Rita); Thomas (Crissy); Kelly Neville Bentley (Eric); grandchildren Kate, David, Caroline, Jessica, Lauren, Emily, Zachery, Andrew; and great-grandchild, Sophia-Lorraine.
