Felton Parish Coley

Felton Parish Cooley, “Boompa” 87, of Raleigh, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 7, 2016. He was born to Felton P. Coley Sr. and Helen Wilson Coley in Columbia, S.C. on January 27, 1929.

Felton graduated from the University of South Carolina. He retired as Executive Vice President of Durham Life Insurance. Felton was a member of Millavee Hunt Club in Columbia SC. He was a charter member of the Wake County Wildlife Club. Boompa, as he was affectionately known, was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. His foundest hunting memories were at “Wall to Wall”. Another one of his favorite past times fishing on the dock in Morehead City. He was a longtime member of Highland United Methodist church.

He is survived by his very devoted wife of 64 years, Beverly R. Coley, sons: Gary F Coley (Pam) and Felton P. Coley Jr. (Carol), grandchildren Jennifer C. Capps (Josh) Brad Coley (Sonya), Christian, Catherine and William Coley, two great grandchildren: Jayden Piper and Georgia Coley and a sister Miriam C. Williams and three nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, September 9, 2016 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 300 Saint Mary’s St. Raleigh, NC 27605. A graveside service will be held 1 pm Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC 27612.
