Evelyn West Dixon

Evelyn West Dixon, 87, passed away on October 23, 2017 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Born on February 4, 1930 in Rocky Mount; she was one of six children to the late Milton Dupree West and Cora Register West and wife of the late Walter Everette Dixon, Sr.

Evelyn and Walter were active members of Raleigh First Assembly prior to their health restrictions. She was an office manager and bookkeeper throughout her career, but family was her main love in life.

She is survived by her son: Milton Dixon and wife Faye, of Raleigh; daughter: Diane Dixon, of Raleigh; grandchildren: Sheila Scott (Kevin), Michael Tollefsrud (Jennifer), Jason Dixon (Donita), Lori Kelly (Kevin), Paul Tollefsrud (Dara), Richard Dixon and Rebecca Dixon; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by her sons: Richard Alan Dixon and Walter E. Dixon, Jr.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 28th from 1-2 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Avenue), with Funeral Services to be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Evelyn's memory.
