Evelyn Barker

Evelyn Sullivan Barker passed away Tuesday July 30, 2013, one day before her 90th birthday, surrounded by her family. There will be a visitation at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church, 4619 Tower Rd. in Greensboro on Thursday August 1st, at 7:00 PM. A funeral will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 2:00 PM at Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church Camp Ground Chapel in Perry GA. Interment will follow at church cemetery.

Evelyn was born July 31, 1923 in East Point, GA to Elliott and Jessie Sullivan. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Thomas Franklin Barker, Jr. , one son, Robert Elliott Barker and wife Peggy of Lexington, SC., one daughter, Flora Barker Price and husband Henry of Greensboro, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She was predeceased by one sister, Virginia Sullivan Bonner, two brothers, Wallace C. Sullivan and Albert V. Sullivan, and one great grandson, Daniel J. Roach.

For the past two and a half years Evelyn has resided at Camden Place with her husband, T.F. by whom she will be sorely missed. She was a life-long member of Christ’s Sanctified Holy Church. She leaves to her family a legacy of courage, faith, and fortitude.
