Elmore Russell Snead

Elmore Russell Snead, 89, of Raleigh, NC, died Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born in Lynchburg, VA on July 17, 1928 to Bill and Mildred Snead. Elmore served as a Marine Corps Sergeant during the Korean War. He worked in management and supervision with Kraft Foods Company for 28 years.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; 6 children, Alan Snead and wife, Jane, Deborah Johnson, Lisa Luke, Cynthia Thornton, Sharon Pope and husband, Curtis, and Mark Williams; sister, Martha Ann Tuggle and husband, Claude; 10 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Rev. A. Davis Snead, Walsa Snead, and his twin brother, Ellis Snead.

The family will receive visitors 6-8pm on Tuesday, August 8, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, August 9 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to First Baptist Church, 99 N. Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
