Eleanor McGhee Swanson passed in to Heaven after 10 years of declining health. She was born in Rock Hill, SC daughter of Charles R. McGhee and Nell Rebecca Ferrell McGhee, and grew up around the south during the Great Depression; her father seeking employment. While in Oak Ridge, TN during WWII she met her husband, Donald, and they were married for 61 years. They had five children together: Marilyn Topal (Ron), Donald Swanson (Mary Ann), Karen Kaylor (Mike), Charles Swanson, and Sara Johnson (Richard). Grandchildren: Michael Kaylor, Jeremy Kaylor, Adam Johnson, Melissa Johnson, Deena (Kaylor) Maninga, and Jordan Topal. She had many great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Donald and her granddaughter, Melissa, as well as her parents and her siblings: Charles, Joann, and James Richard. She loved Jesus since she was a very young bride and those who went before her were waiting for her at the Gates when she arrived in Heaven. For the past several years she spoke often about wanting to go Home. The struggles of this world have fallen away and she is finally Home! We can’t wait to someday see her whole, healthy and laughing again. Oh how she loved to laugh!
Psalm 116:15-16, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints...You have loosed my bonds.”
