Denise Lee Jenkins AKA Dittiromo was born on June 12, 1959, and died on May 28, 2019. She is survived by her husband, Louis Steven Holly, her daughter, Danielle Lee Jenkins, her grandchildren, Layla Jade, Mia Bella and their father Jonathon Monroy, her mother, Mary Gallart, and her cat, Luna. She is predeceased by her son, Michael (Mickey) John Ahearn Jr, former spouse Michael Ahearn Sr, her father, Joseph Gallart Sr, and niece, Desirae Gallart.
Denise is beloved by her four siblings Teri Gallart, Michael Gallart, Joey Gallart, Arlene Persico Vislocky, sisters-in-law Gina Bennicasa, Wendy Gallart, Judith Holly, brothers-in-law Marty Reinstein, Michael Vislocky, Daniel Holly, nieces Dana Reinstein, Paula Czapla, her spouse Jim, their children Liam, Aurore, nephew Jeremy Reinstein, and former spouse Harold Jenkins.
Denise Lee Gallart was born to Joseph and Mary Gallart “nee McAndrew” and was raised in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY. In 2010, she retired from her 30 year career at Verizon as a Central Office Technician. In 2017, Denise married Louis Holly and gained a mother in law, Mary, stepdaughter, Cassandra, and 2 grandchildren, Jazmyn and Jacquelyn.
Denise had a vibrant personality with a fun attitude, a loving heart, and a free spirit. She was a nature lover, a cat lover and a Yankee and Giants fan (as all true New Yorkers are). Her favorite movies were Overboard, Life of Brian, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, Men in Tights, and various Monty Python and Mel Brooks films. She was a fan of The Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead, Ansel Adams and Charles Manson. Her favorite song was Blue Sky by The Allman Brothers Band. She was amazing at music trivia! She enjoyed Asti-Spumante and White Russians. She enjoyed going to the beach. She loved getting tattoos with special meanings including an ankh symbol and commemorated loved ones. She made a delicious cheesecake that everyone enjoyed.
Denise spent the past few years traveling around the country with her husband and living in the Poconos, Pennsylvania. She had recently moved to Raleigh and passed away surrounded by loved ones. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all those she touched in their hearts. May God give you eternal rest and may your soul rest in peace.
