He was raised in Kannapolis, NC and graduated from East Carolina University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He worked as computer programmer at NC DHHS and retired from the state of North Carolina in 2003. He loved playing golf and was a ranger at Pine Hollow Golf Club after retirement. He was a huge fan of ECU football, the Carolina Panthers and the Carolina Hurricanes.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Stowe, and his wife, Jennifer Strehle Stowe; brother, Gerry Stowe; and his girlfriend, Mary Cleaves Daniels Smith.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother Hugh Stowe.
The family would like to thank Transitions LifeCare for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. His family would also like to thank Todd Helton MD for the care he provided David throughout his life.
A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
