David was born on October 26th, 1962, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Walter and Elizabeth Leach. He grew up to become a man of integrity, known for his dedication to his family and his work ethic.
After graduating from Sanderson High School in Raleigh, NC, in 1981, David embarked on a successful career as an entrepreneur. For over 30 years, he owned and operated his own electrical business, MESA Corp.
Beyond his professional endeavors, David found immense joy in life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for fishing, woodworking, coin collecting, and cherished moments spent on Topsail Island with his family.
David will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, infectious humor, and his unique fashion sense. He had a knack for bringing laughter and joy to those around him and was always ready to lend a helping hand to any neighbor in need.
His delicious meals, grilled and cooked with love for his family, will forever be cherished. David touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.
David is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Darlene Hillier Leach; his son, Michael D. Leach of Raleigh; his daughter, Stephanie L. Hulgan of Wake Forest, and her husband, Marcus; his grandsons, James and Elijah; his brother, Walter H. Leach of Carlisle, PA, and his wife, Dawn; as well as nephews, Alan and Stuart.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in David's name to the Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Awareness Walk, www.ovarianawareness.org, as a tribute to David's late mother, Liz.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of David E. Leach will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home on East Millbrook Road in Raleigh, NC, on Thursday, April 18th, at 11 a.m., with interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. The family asks that all guests come dressed as they feel comfortable.
David's memory will forever remain in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
