David Michael Holton, Jr., of Morehead City, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015, very unexpectedly. David was 42 years old. He was a kind, caring and sweet man and will be missed by so many people.
David was born in Raleigh September 1, 1972 to Cathey (Moore) and Mike Holton (David Michael Holton, Sr.). He graduated from Sanderson High School in Raleigh and attended NCSU School of Engineering. In 2012 he moved to Atlantic Beach and then Morehead City.
In addition to his parents, Cathey and Mike Holton he is survived by his sister, Emily Holton (Steve Jenkins) and their 8-month-old son, Sawyer, all of Raleigh; his girlfriend, Mandy Lee of Morehead City; his and Mandy’s dogs Buckley and Jack, his grandmother, Nancy Holton of Wilson; and his aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Ralph and Marsha Moore of Wilson; Lee Linthicum of Raleigh; Beverly and Tim Roberson of West Union SC; Dan Holton of Henderson; Brian Holton of Carolina Beach; Jimmy Holton of Greenville NC; Sarah , Matt, and Jackson Cooper of Charlotte; Kelly Roberson and her daughter Leigh (Max) Aberle) of Charlotte; Ashley and Naeem Fazel and their children Nurah and Asher of Charlotte; and Meredith anf Brandon Stores of Apex.
His great joy was fishing in the Atlantic waters and being with his friends and family. He will be remembered for his loving heart and infectious laugh. David was so very excited about the upcoming birth of his and Mandy’s baby due in August. He always wanted to be a daddy.
David was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, David Johnson Holton, in 2008; his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Alma Moore in 2008/2009; his schnauzer Madi in 2014.
Services will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Millbrook Road, Raleigh NC, at 2pm Saturday, February 28. Weather permitting; a graveside service will be held immediately following at Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
