Craig Neil Cook of Raleigh, NC passed away on May 26, 2023 at the age of 49. He was born in Dunedin, New Zealand. He grew up in Dunedin and Gold Coast, Australia. He graduated from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia with a Bachelor’s of Information Technology in 1995.
He worked in various roles in Information Technology in Brisbane, London, San Francisco, CA and Raleigh, NC. His most recent role was as Manager of Developer Tooling at IBM. He was actively involved in Boy Scouts, Wood Badge, IBM mentoring programs, DevOps conference planning, Toastmasters and improv at ComedyWorx. He was always willing to jump in to help a colleague with a difficult situation or to help a scout navigate the intricacies of building a proper shelter. He created the Knotty Scout Program with Troop 214 and presented it at the University of Scouting event.
His love of cooking is legendary. He served as the Scout Merit Badge counselor for cooking and ran several cooking merit badge classes over the years. He took cooking classes in San Francisco, CA and Florence, Italy. He even volunteered with Chef Walter Royal at the Angus Barn to carve 300 turkeys for their Thanksgiving dinner.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia and son, Patrick. He is also survived by his parents, Robert and Judith Cook as well as his brother Wayne Cook (wife, Elise) and many nephews and extended family in Maryland, Australia and New Zealand.

A funeral service was held on June 9, 2023 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home.
