Charles Edward Wheeler, “Chuck”, 85, left this world and passed to his eternal home in Heaven on October 22, 2022. He was born June 23, 1937 in Fulton, NY. He graduated from Michigan State University and was a passionate, lifelong Michigan State fan.
He met his beautiful wife, Bonnie in Fulton and they married on October 21, 1961. In 1972, he moved his family to Raleigh, NC to start a job at Burroughs Wellcome, where he worked until he retired. He loved to garden, spend time with his family, and watch Michigan State football and basketball. He was loved by many.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Bonnie, who was the love of his life, three children, Carla Cawthorn (David) of Clayton, Michael Wheeler, and Daniel Wheeler. He was a loving grandfather who adored his three grandchildren, Sam Cawthorn, Sarah Cawthorn, and Jack Cawthorn. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Neil, Bob, Bud, Dick, and Mahlon, and a sister, Fran.
A memorial service will be held at Church of the Good Shepherd, 125 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, on Friday, October 28th at 11:00 am.
