Charlene Lucas Jeffries "Cookie" died Friday, December 29, 2017 surrounded by her family & friends at Rex Hospital. Born August 17th in 1941, Cookie was a loving wife of almost 49 years to her husband Tom, and devoted mother to her son Garrett. Cookie was a self-taught biblical scholar who held a strong faith in Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Garrett Jeffries Sr; son, Garrett and his wife, Janet; and grandson Ellis.
It was her wish that in lieu of flowers, that a donation be made to the Rex Hospital Cancer Center in Raleigh.
The family will receive visitors at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, on Tuesday, January 2nd from 7pm-9pm. Funeral Services will be private.
