Carolyn Wallace, age 79, of Durham, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, just two months shy of her 80th birthday. She was a remarkable woman full of love, generosity, courage and creative resourcefulness. She passionately loved her family and friends. Carolyn will be sorely missed and leaves a big hole in our lives.
People who knew Carolyn wanted to share some of their memories:
"As I think about Carolyn's life it was not easy. I look back over it, and think how hard it was, the challenges she faced, the pain and sorrows she went through yet whenever I talked to her, she was grateful. She did not reflect on her trials, her hardships, the things she wanted to do and never got to do. She was grateful for life, thankful, beyond generous, and loved passionately. She rejoiced in each day she had. She was such an example to me of how I should be living my life. Thankful for each day. Grateful for each day. Loving each day."
Carrie believed, "it was her life mission to make people laugh. She had a kind wit and could even get strangers to laugh. She was so happy when she could come home from an errand and tell me a story that ended with, and they laughed. Whenever I laugh, I will think of her and thank her for this gift."
"Carolyn considered me her sister and I welcomed that honor. Always my sister-in-love. Rest in Peace Carolyn."
"Carol picked me up when I was broken and brought me back to life. She is one of the funniest people I will ever know!"
"We made some great memories at the lake house on Winnipesaukee. She was fun loving and a good friend. We’ll miss her."
