Mr. Hicks was a leader of leaders and especially adept at public speaking, being widely sought after because of his persuasive ability and entertaining presentations.
One of his greatest joys was sports, especially basketball from his beloved alma mater UNC, Chapel Hill. He could remember every detail of every game dating back to the 1960’s.
Carlos also loved music, particularly country music. While carrying a tune was not his forte, he knew every word to every classic and would sing them all.
Carlos epitomized the traits of true friendship. He was totally loyal to his friends and stood beside them to share joyful moments and console them in times of need.
Many will remember Carlos for his wit and wisdom. He was blessed with an extraordinary intellect coupled with a sharp sense of humor which drew others to him and made them feel good to be in his presence.
