Carl Robert Chapman

Mr. Chapman served in the US Air Force from 1956-1960. He graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia State College with a degree in Political Science. He was a 27-year employee with the United States Postal Service, starting his postal career in Charleston, West Virginia as a clerk. He progressed to supervisor in Charleston, then was promoted to Postmaster at Summersville, West Virginia, and later Beckley, WV. Mr. Chapman became Director of City Operations in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1988, and retired as Postmaster at Garner, North Carolina in 1992.

Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Chapman, and Dorothy Crank Napier, his sister Mary Faye Chapman, and brother, Paul Raymond Chapman. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Robinson Chapman, and by daughters Sherry Binion, Anita Chapman, and Angela Chapman, and sons Jack Binion and David Binion. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Scarlett Bernard, Jake Hickman and Caroline Hickman, and two great grandchildren, Alisse and Coraline Bernard.
