Brian Daniel Queen, age 43, died early Thursday morning, on April 25, 2024, unexpectedly. Brian was born on June 2, 1980, in Raleigh, NC and was the son of Paul Daniel Queen, Jr. and the late Deborah “Debbie” Peterson Queen. He was loved very much by his step-mother, Teresa Stains Queen.
As a Raleigh native, Brian was a 1999 graduate of Millbrook High School. He was a proud Pirate and a 2003 graduate of East Carolina University. He was an avid NC State fan who enjoyed tailgating and cheering on his beloved Wolfpack.
Brian’s morals and values were formed by his faith at an early age which played an integral role in all aspects of his life. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church throughout his adolescence. It was there that he forged his lifelong friendships with the “TBC boys”. It was Brian’s hope that his own children would develop similar friendships bonded through faith in the Lord.
In 2007, he met the love of his life, Carrie. They began their life together, marrying on June 4, 2010. They welcomed their daughter Avery in 2012, followed by their son Ayden in 2014. His children were the greatest joy of his life.
Brian was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah “Debbie” Peterson Queen and his brother in law, Drew Richardson. He is survived by his wife Carrie of 14 years, their two children, Avery and Ayden, his parents Daniel and Terry Queen, his brothers Jason (wife Tara) Queen and Matthew Queen. Brian is also survived by his in laws, Dennis and Temple Richardson, his brother in law, David (wife Jessie) Richardson, and sister in law, Kerry Richardson. He also leaves behind his treasured nieces and nephews, Jackson, Jocilyn, Katelyn, Ethan, Liam, Emma, Parker, Waverly, and beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and his “framily”.
Brian was a true gem who knew no stranger and lived life to the fullest. He loved every aspect of life involving family, friends, and his best buddy, their dog Ford. He enjoyed a good conversation, a good beverage, and good live music. In keeping with Brian’s loving and generous spirit his final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation. His gift was celebrated as he participated in an honor walk.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Bay Leaf Baptist Church, 12200 Bayleaf Church Road, Raleigh, NC 27614, at 1:30 pm. The service will follow at 3:00 pm, with a private burial on Tuesday.
