Barbara Ann Webb

January 12, 1942 – May 21, 2023

Barbara Ann McCaskill Webb, 81, of Raleigh, NC went to be with her heavenly father on Sunday, May 21, 2023 with her loving family by her side after a courageous struggle with dementia.

Barbara was born January 12th, 1942 in Erwin, NC to her loving parents, Theron & Vera McCaskill. She attended Erwin High School, where she received Most Valuable Player for the girls’ basketball team as well as receiving the “Cutest Senior Girl” superlative. After graduating in 1960, she attended the UNC Dental Assistant Program. She began her career as a dental assistant for Dr. Henry Lineburger & Dr. Daniel Lotz and continued with their practice for 32 years concluding as office manager. She retired as executive assistant to the president of Delta Dental, Inc.

Barbara was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 45 years. She was actively involved in many committees however, her true passion was spending time with the youth. Barbara was always dedicated to chaperoning mission and ski trips as well as planning community outreach & bible studies. Her passion for youth ministry served as a Christ like example that resonated with many youth over the years.

She will be remembered for her contagious smile, genuine kindness & tenacious spirit. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, her many pets and friends. She taught the grandchildren the importance of a good coupon & how to find a good deal. Barbara loved to shop and her outfits, jewelry & shoes were always perfectly matched.

During her retirement years, Barbara was involved in the Red Hat Society. She spent time attending the grandchildren’s special events and ball games. Barbara also enjoyed gardening in her yard, traveling with her husband & lifelong friends, and suntanning on the beach.

She was preceded in death by, Theron & Vera McCaskill and her three brothers, Edward, Bobby & Jerry. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Webb, her son, Anthony & daughter in law, Ann, of Wilmington, NC & grandchildren, Megan & Jacob. Also dear to Barbara, is her best friend of 40 years and “daughter she always wanted”, Teresa Green, husband Larry & her “Raleigh grandchildren”, Anne-Marie, Lawrence & Alisa.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother & friend. She will be greatly missed by many.

Funeral services were held at Tabernacle Baptist Church on Thursday, May 25, 2023.
