Ann Olivia Wolfe

On July 23, 2012 our dear, sweet mother Ann Olivia Parkinson Wolfe was reunited in heaven with the love of her life, our father, Capt. James D. Stallings. Mom spent the last several days of her time on earth with her four children and other family members at a small family reunion in Massanutten, VA. She was not sick. Her son Wayne picked her up in Raleigh and they made their way to join our family for 3 days of food, drink and family stories. Mom listened to Jim’s radio show on WAJR-Morgantown, WV online every morning; she worked the New York Times Crossword every day, keeping her mind sharp. She was an accomplished musician learning to play oboe at the Shenandoah Conservatory of Music. For the past few years Ann was in the “Silver Bells” group at North Raleigh United Methodist Church. Ann also enjoyed playing Scrabble with family and on her laptop, always teaching us a new word or two. Her daughter Pam was able to spend several days with her earlier this month, talking about great-granddaughter Lilly. The family reunion ended all too soon and family members went their separate ways. Mom went back to North Carolina with Patty and her husband Hank to their home in Burlington... Patty said Mom reminisced about the weekend during the ride home. One of her most emphatic statements was "Thank God I was with all of my kids!". She went to her room for the night, read a little on her Kindle, and never woke up. Mom was also active in the Go-Getters Club and the Joy Club at the North Raleigh Methodist Church. Ann was born August 24, 1931 in Newport News, Virginia to John Bingham Parkinson and Ruth Udick. She was raised in Hampton, VA by her loving Stepmother Marguerite Lucille Lipscomb Parkinson. She was preceded in death by husband Capt. James D. Stallings, (U.S Army), and twin sister Dorothy Lee Moling. Surviving are son, Wayne Bingham Stallings and wife Susan of Easton, MD, daughter Patricia Stallings Henry and husband Hank of Burlington, NC, daughter Pamela Lucille Stallings of Charleston, WV, son James Donald Stallings Jr. and wife Susan of Morgantown, WV., seven grandchildren: Ryan Keeley, Meghan Keeley, Lauren Keeley, James Kaul and wife Joanie, William P. Neubauer, Craig B. Stallings and Brian D. Stallings, a great granddaughter, Lillian Kaul, and five great grandsons of the Stallings family.
