In her final days, she received loving and exceptional round-the-clock care from: daughter Carolina, with whom she lived for the past 25 years; daughter Monica who flew back from Colombia; granddaughters Tessa and Angela; and dear friend MM from Montreal. Widow of Joaquin Macia, she leaves to mourn her children Monica (Pablo), Camilo (Kelly), Alejandro (Seraina), Carolina (Andrew) and Felipe (Monica). Her grandchildren Ana (Fran), Andres (Kate), Alexandra, Isabella, Tessa (Aric), Angela (Steven), Jennifer (Alex), Daniela and Natalia will miss her terribly.
A devoted mother and adored Nana, she loved to connect with her family from near and far. Content to sit at breakfast enjoying her Colombian coffee and foamy milk, an arepa with homemade cheese, and her iPad to read the news, she never sat still the rest of her day. Whether she was working in the garden, going to Bible study, running errands or volunteering, Angela was a force to be reckoned with.
The family would like to thank Nurse Misty Reynolds from Transitions LifeCare Hospice for her support, availability, and gentle nature during this difficult time. Heaven has gained a powerhouse, we have lost our guiding light.
Funeral mass will be said on Tuesday, September 27 at 11:00 am at the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi, 11401 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Transitions LifeCare; Philanthropy Dept. | 250 Hospice Circle | Raleigh, NC 27607
