She moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1982 where she ran Edward’s Auction Gallery off of Old Wake Forest Road with her husband, Richard, for 15 years. Upon retiring from the auction business, Andrea put her creativity to work restoring antiques, pottery and porcelain.
Outside of this work, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed antiquing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. For Andrea, family was her focus and she cherished her role as mother, grandmother and wife.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Richard Edwards of Raleigh; daughters, Susan Piotrowski and husband, Alex of Marietta, GA; Jennifer McCracken and husband, Edwin of Clayton, NC; sons, Sean McKenzie and wife, Tara of Raleigh, NC; Daniel McKenzie and wife, Kelly of Raleigh, NC; Kevin McKenzie and wife, Erin of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Henrietta Chambers and husband, James of Bradenton, FL; Faith Eaton of Westhaven, CT; brother, Enrico Acampora and wife, Donna of LaGrangeville, NY; 10 grandchildren and her two canine companions.
Her family will receive friends Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609. Funeral Services will be held at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609, at noon Friday, April 13, 2012. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Dr., Wake Forest, NC 27587.
