Allen Buckner Causseaux, 87, passed away on December 30, 2017. He was born in Austin, TX to the late Jay and Evelyn Causseaux. Allen served his country as an Army Master Sergeant during the Korean War. After flight school, he continued his Army career as a helicopter pilot serving two tours in Vietnam. He retired in 1977 after 30 years of dedicated service. A true patriot, he was very proud of his country and his military career but his greatest pride was his family which meant the world to him. Allen was predeceased by his son Bruce Allen Causseaux.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years, Janece A Causseaux; daughter Pamela Ann McCollum and her husband Michael of Raleigh; daughter-in-law Barbara Causseaux of Burke, VA; 5 grandchildren, Arrin Bristow and her husband Paul of Richmond, VA, Chase Causseaux and his wife Heather of Fairfax Station, VA, Grady McCollum and his wife Amanda of Raleigh, Haleigh McCollum of Raleigh, Lindsey Sehrer and her husband Tim, of Ashburn, VA; 6 great grandchildren, Brooklyn Grace, Ella Reese, Luke Mackoy, Sadie May, Katie Mae, and Thomas Grady; and his dog, Austin.
A full military honor service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at Stewart Health Center, Rex Hospital, and Transitions Lifecare for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to a charity of choice.
