Alice Kerchner Jones

Alice Kerchner Jones, 87, of Raleigh died Saturday, January 13, 2018. Alice was born in Wyomissing, PA, on April 6, 1930 to the late William and Katharine Kerchner. She graduated from Bucknell University, then worked for G.E. Corporation in New York and later United Fabrics in Raleigh. She was a long time member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Raleigh. For many years Alice served as a volunteer with the Food Bank of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Guy T. Jones in 2014; and a brother, William Kerchner.

She is survived by her two daughters, Betsy Huber and Julie Edwards; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas, Ryan, Katharine and Patrick; 2 great-grandchildren, Lucas and Cole.

Alice enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, sewing, crafts and sunshine. She especially loved her time with friends and family at Emerald Isle, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1500 Glenwood Ave. Raleigh. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Food Bank of NC, 1924 Capital Blvd. Raleigh, NC 27604.
