Mrs. Emily McNeill of Aberdeen passed away in FirstHealth Hospice House on September 13, 2017 at the age of 84. Mrs. McNeill was born in Cumberland County on July 28, 1933 to the late William Marvin Jackson and Lena Mae Lynch Jackson. A truly sweet southern lady, Emily was an accomplished artist and a member of the Aberdeen First Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family, especially around the holidays. Emily has always had a special place in her heart for animals. She was preceded in death by her daughter Kathy McNeill, two brothers and four sisters. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, George McNeill of Aberdeen; her daughter, Susan Diane Watson of Chapel Hill; her son, George F. McNeill, Jr. and his wife, Julie of Aberdeen; sister, Thelma Toler of Hope Mills; her brother, Kenneth Jackson and his wife, Carolyn of Sanford; her sisters, Faye Brake of Hayes, VA; Linda Enloe and her husband, Bill of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6-8pm on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Aberdeen First Baptist Church with the Reverend Michael Branscome officiating. Burial will be in the Bethesda Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospice, 2900 N.
