Robert Edward McCarthy Sr.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late William and Eleanor (Perkins) McCarthy. Bobby attended school in Quincy and was part of the first graduating class of Quincy Vocational Technical High School. He worked for many years as a finishing carpenter before retiring from the trade.

He is survived by his two children, Robert McCarthy and his wife Colleen of Merrimack, NH and Kelly Harvey of Stoughton formerly of Weymouth; Four brothers, Kenneth F. and his wife Linda of AZ, William P. and his wife Karen of Norwood, Donald S. and his fiancé Eileen Reid of Quincy, and Paul E. and his wife Christine of FL; and seven grandchildren, Bobby, Ryan, Matthew and Shawn McCarthy and Griffin, Liam and Elizabeth Harvey. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Deware Funeral Home on Saturday May 30th at 9:00am followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church, Hancock St, Wollaston. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-8pm. Friends and relatives invited. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Bobby’s memory to the charity of your choice.
