Virginia Carmen Garcia

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Virginia Carmen Garcia on May 29, 2023, at the age of 73, at her home in Queens, NY with her husband by her side. Predeceased by her parents Josefa and Daniel Padro, Virginia leaves her devoted husband Jose “Jerry” Remache of over 20 years, her son Neil Garcia, and son Kevin Garcia, his wife Tanya, and their children Memphis, Phoenix, and Winter. In addition, she is survived by her sister Josephine Limbert and her son EJ, her aunt, and many cousins and friends.

Born in Manhattan, Virginia attended Saint Cecilia School. After graduation she married her first husband, Antonio Garcia, and raised her two sons in New York City. Virginia worked for the Board of Education as a food service employee, and took great pride in preparing and serving thousands of children their lunch daily over the years. She later graduated from LaGuardia Community College with a degree in food service management, and became a dietician for New York City Schools. She retired after working over 30 years in the school system.

Virginia was remarried to Jose “Jerry” Remache for over 20 years, living in their home in Queens, with their dogs and birds. Both enjoyed tending to their gardens, hosting bar-b-ques in their backyard, and traveling. Virginia loved taking pictures, and had her camera ready for any event. She loved to cook for her family, especially for special occasions.

She was an incredibly loving mother and wife who was a kind, generous, happy and gentle soul with a tremendous heart and spirit. She will forever leave her imprint in the hearts of those who knew her. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

A visitation for Virginia will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 4-8pm. There will be a prayer service at 6:30pm.
