It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Francesca Gatti, 63 of Bellerose, NY, announces her passing on August 16, 2018. Rose enjoyed life to the fullest through her husband, Donato Gatti, and her son Anthony and daughter Clara along with two beautiful grandchildren with one on the way.
Born October 26, 1954, in Kings County, Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of Lawrence Romano and Lina Romano of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. Rose married the love of her life, Donato Gatti, from Astoria, NY and soon began her life’s work of raising her son Anthony and daughter Clara. She generously gave her time working as a school lunch aide at St. Gregory the Great School in Bellerose NY.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching her favorite soap operas, vacationing at Lake George, NY, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was the finest homemaker and cook, bringing happiness to every occasion. No one ever left her house hungry. She enjoyed spending her days alongside her husband whether food shopping, out for a stroll, or taking an impromptu trip to the Adirondacks. Lake George was her “happy place”, where, if she could, would spend every minute of every day enjoying with her family. She made this place our most cherished place.
Rose will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 37 years, Donato, and their children, Anthony and wife Valentina, Clara and husband Matthew, by her mother Lina Romano, and by her brother Steve Romano and wife Wendy of Charleston SC. Rose will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Sophie and Andrew, her pet grand-dog, Nala, along with extended family members and dear friends. Most remembered by all is her selfless dedication to others and her natural smile that melted away all troubles.
A memorial mass, celebrating her life, will be held at 10:30 am, on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Saint Gregory the Great, Bellerose, NY 11426.
