Lorraine was born in Brooklyn New York on August 2, 1941; she is the daughter of the late Henry and Geneva Stark. Lorraine graduated from Prospect Heights High School, before attending both Saint Joseph’s College and Long Island University, where she earned her graduate degree in nursing and education. Lorraine married Rupert (Lonnie) Campbell and together they raised their son Craig. Lorraine was an active member in the community and worked as a manager of education for the American Red Cross in New York for many years. Upon retiring from American Red Cross, Lorraine's passion as an educator continued as she and Lonnie worked several years besides each other as faculty members of St. Joseph’s College. Lorraine often said “Lonnie would grade all her papers for her”.
Lorraine was a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. Family and friends were Lorraine’s passion and delight. She was always known to be the life of the party and always dressed as well. She loved to host and entertain, and frequently had garden parties at her home. For several years, Lorraine and Lonnie would visit Alaska, Brazil, and Martinique during the summer months. She enjoyed her vacation places everywhere and made many lifelong friends along the way. Another of Lorraine’s greatest joys was becoming a grandmother.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; loving husband, Rupert; son, Craig and his spouse Benjara,; adorning grand-daughter Benjaria ; cousins Marion Johnson, Elaine Grant, and Debra Grant. Lorraine also leaves behind a host of loving relatives and friends.
