On Sunday, December 4, 2022 the Romano family lost their hero. Anthony Michael Romano of Staten Island is survived by his loving wife of thirteen years, Mariana Romano, his cherished five-year-old son, Dominic Romano, dedicated parents Rocco and Maryanne, and his caring sister Cheryle and her husband Owen, along with nephews Ryan and Brenden, and countless extended family and friends.
Anthony was born in Farmingville, NY and attended Sachem High School before enrolling in Stony Brook University, College of Business. After earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance, Anthony selflessly became a Corrections Officer for the New York State Department of Corrections ultimately serving at Queensboro Correctional Facility.
He will be fondly remembered for his unwavering devotion to God and his adoration for his family, particularly his son. He loved riding his bike, traveling, setting off on new adventures and playing with his beloved 8-pound dog, Lulu. As a proud Italian-American, his favorite foods were his mother’s “sauce,” lasagna, pizza and chocolate.
His kind heart, beautiful green eyes and warm hugs will always be remembered.
