Raised in Milton, Tom graduated from Fife High School, and attended Green River Community College. Tom had a successful career at Boeing and had recently retired after nearly thirty years of service.
Tom enjoyed taking road trips, camping, gardening, music and golf.
Tom is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 34 years, Paula; daughter Candace (James) Bingham; son Matthew Shoemaker; parents Jim and Loris Shoemaker; sisters Janie Loflin and Diana Pratt; and granddaughter Ellie. He will also be missed by his lifelong friends Steve (Linda) Bakken and Keith (LuAnn) Ward as well as countless extended family, coworkers and his dog, Lenny.
Tom will be forever remembered as a loving and generous husband and father, a devoted son and brother, an excited new grandpa and a kind and loyal friend.
A memorial will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10 am at Powers Funeral Home, 320 West Pioneer, Puyallup. Memorial donations may be made to local animal rescue organizations.
