Daisy Marie Bell (or Granny as everyone called her), 80, longtime resident of Downsville, Louisiana passed away on July 20, 2017 in Washington State. Memorial services will be at 4:00 pm on August 12, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville LA. Her life celebration will continue with a potluck at the church following interment at Antioch Cemetery.
Granny is now reunited with the love of her life, Ernest. She also reunited with her son, Jim and her brothers and sisters, mother and father. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Linda Soto of Graham WA, daughter LaWanda Bell of Swartz LA, and son Jason Bell of Calhoun LA, daughter in- law Cheryl Bell of Arlington TX and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Born in Monroe LA, in 1937, Granny moved to Texas at the age of 14 and remained in Texas until she retired for Minyards and returned to Louisiana loving for 20 plus years in her “Eden” on the hill, as she liked to call it, surrounded by family, friends, puppies and nature.
She lived a long full life. She was funny, smart, an avid gardener and loved to bake. A few memories that will always be with us are the Bunny cake she spent hours decorating, her blueberry filled cake and her famous “granny” chocolate pies, but most important to her was her family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always remain in the hearts and souls of those who were privileged to call her “GRANNY.”
