One time when we were about 9 we were at her home in Tacoma and she got a half gallon of ice cream and we went down stairs and ate the whole thing. We really regretted that one. I was so lucky to join her family on many trips to Cle Elum before there was a cabin. We rode dirt bikes, swam, made friends with local kids. Bridgette, her dachshund as our protector from bears. Imagined or not! Truly a blast that could never be equalled. She was my Maid of Honor for Lui and I wedding 37 years ago. Saddened to hear that Laurie has left us. I sent an email to her a while back because I saw that we were practically neighbors.  Had hopes of meeting up with her. Then, today, I read of her passing. I use to ride my bike to her house back in the day. She was such a wet girl with a beautiful smile.  Went through the pictures and it seems she had a loving and fulfilling life. That very comforting.

My heart goes out to Laurie's family. I'm sorry for your loss. I knew Laurie in middle school. I remember having her in health class in 7th grade & I thought she was such a nice girl. A beautiful woman has gone too soon. God bless you all. My prayers are with you.  Nannette Boyd- Johnson

Our family is so very sad to hear of Laurie's death.  She brought us much joy and many happy memories. The Chamberlain family lived next door since Laurie and our daughter Kathy were babies and they were always the best of friends even when Kathy moved to Georgia.  May they be giggling and laughing again. Our love and prayers go out to Jim, Rob, Megan, Mike and all Laurie's family and friends.

Jim, l had the twin brother Dwayne and we went to school with Laurie for many years. So sorry if you did not understand my earlier message. He (Dwayne) passed away in Sept of 2016 and now he is in heaven.

To the Love of my Life, I cannot express in any known word, or emotion, how you touched my soul from the moment I met you Laurie. All you have given me throughout our union, the privilege of you impacting Kevin, Jay, and Brian; the honor of being a father to Megan(my favorite daughter) and Mikey(Mike now). Our family travels, you and I traveling over 15 States together, is untouched by the experience we shared with each other and with our children.  The candor of our communications with each, the tenderness and emotional connection we shared without a word spoken my love, the picnics in the living room, the power outages, the family card games, the graduations of our children, the return of our children from war, the birth of Lily our granddaughter(favorite one  and only one), the amazing mother and financial wizard of budgets, your sigh, the love of Tiger( maybe but definitely at the end), I cherish until my last breath. My soul has been blessed from the first to this last moment of our life together. My tears are for the ending of your suffering. from the first time you touched my hand, from your first look into my eyes, from your first kiss and embrace Laurie, you had all of me. As I promised you on April 8, 2000, in front of our parents, our children, our friends, and God;  'in sickness or health, for richer or poorer, I will honor and respect you for the rest of lives as we are one." Jim, Megan, Michael, Rob and ALL of you...I am so deeply saddened to learn of your loss! Laurie was one of my closest and dearest friends in junior high and high school and I am so sorry we didn't spend more time together after school. I can't even begin to understand the depth of your grief because mine is running pretty deep right now.  Laurie was such a wonderful person, in every way!  We've attempted several get-togethers in recent years but only succeeded in a few. I wish so much we could turn back time.  My deepest, sincerest sympathies are with you all during this time.
