Helen Lavon Andersen, our beautiful and loving mother, passed away July 12, 2013 at the age of 95. Mom was born in Ponoka, Alberta, Canada on May 13, 1918. She is now with her husband, Gaylord, who preceded her in death in 1998. They were married for 63 years. Helen was also preceded in death by her son, Doug, and a granddaughter, Sandy. She is survived by daughter Shirley Olsen of Tacoma, son Larry Andersen of Portland, Oregon, daughter-in-law Joan Andersen of Prineville, Oregon, 5 gradchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mom loved to crochet and was an avid Mariners and Seahawks fan. She also enjoyed a few trips to the Muckleshoot Casino.
Thanks to Venus Sharpe and family of Woodland Adult Family Home in Puyallup for always giving her loving care during her 2 years there, and especially in her final days.
Helen will be so missed by her family and friends. Per Helen's request, there will be no formal service.
