He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Marcie, children; Ben (Becky), Molly (Kevin) and Jeff; grandchildren; Kathryn, Hannah, Evangeline and Keegan, as well as a far reaching extended family. Doug grew up in Independence, Missouri before joining the army and being shipped west. He lived an interesting life filled with an enduring love for music; the Beatles and the guitar in particular. Doug was thrown from broncos while competing in rodeos; he ran long distance races, dabbled in golf, and magic. He took road trips in half way across the country with small children and also in a small car. Professionally, he worked as funeral director where he eased the passing of others for grieving families. His personality was gregarious, boisterous, and full of humor and opinion. Doug Doolin embodied the “Show Me” state attitude of Missouri.
Husband, father, family, or friend, he tried to be his best. He will be missed.
