David W. Peters passed away peacefully among loved ones November 11, 2011. Dave was born in Tacoma on February 13, 1947. He graduated from Puyallup High School where he was excited by sports and racing cars.
He enlisted into the United States Army, became a paratrooper in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He served in Vietnam where he was awarded The Army Commendation Medal For Heroism and three Purple Hearts.
Dave worked as a line equipment operator enjoying several years with Puget Sound Energy and Tacoma Power.
Dave loved playing basketball, flying kites and playing with remote control planes and helicopters. He loved jet skiing. Lake Tapps and Sun Lakes will never be the same.
His journey was blessed with many friends who saw him as a true chief. His presence was strong and clear. He was quick witted, had a great smile, and lived each day with a positive casual attitude. He truly was the definition of tough but tender.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Mada, sister Lois Miller and brothers Gary and Richard. Dave will be mourned by his wife Kimberley, daughters Kimberly and Natalie, grandson Logan, son Markus, brother Tom, sister Anna Patton, baby Holly and scores of friends that knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a graveside service at 1 PM, November 26, 2011 at Woodbine Cemetery 2323 9th St. S.W. , Puyallup WA 98373 followed with a pot luck memorial celebration coordinated by Kitty Welsh at All Saints Parish Center, 506 3rd St. S.W., Puyallup WA,98371.
Dave loved animals so in lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to go to Metro Animal Services, 1200 39th Ave. S.E., Puyallup WA 98374
