Darwin C. Tillman passed away on February 9, 2016, at the age of 86. Darwin was born September 6, 1929, in Antigo, Wisconsin, where he spent his youth along with his sister Glenore Vadnais. After graduating from high school, he joined the army as an MP during in the Korean War. Darwin and Mary DeWan were married June 25, 1956. They began their married life and family in their home town of Antigo. They later moved to California where Darwin found his lifelong career of building houses. He moved his family to Puyallup, Washington, to join his brother-in-law in the home construction business. He soon formed his own contracting business, Tillman Construction. Once the children were on their own, and the business retired, Darwin and Mary spent many happy years travelling in their RV. They enjoyed trips to the midwest, southern U.S., and the areas around West Virginia. He and Mary also enjoyed much laughter visiting and playing cards with their friends. Mary and Darwin were active members of All Saints and Holy Disciples Catholic Churches in Puyallup. Darwin is survived by his wife, Mary; his sister Glenore; his children Anne, Linda, Debra, John, and Paul; 18 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren. He joins his daughter Patty and a granddaughter Nicole. Viewing will be Tuesday, February 16, 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, 320 West Pioneer, Puyallup, WA 98371 . A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 20, at All Saints Catholic Church, 503 3rd Street S.W., Puyallup. The family wishes to thank all those who have supported the them through Darwin’s illness and death.
