Cynthia passed away peacefully at Fawcett Memorial Hospital on December 15. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Charles Counsil Jr., son Charles (Chip) Counsil III, daughter in law Pamala, grand-daughter Mollie Ann. Born in Kingston NY in 1942 Cynthia is a graduate of St. Ursula Academy and the Benedictine School of Nursing. Licensed 1964 as a Registered Professional Nurse she married later that year and moved to New Jersey. Set on retiring to Florida Cynthia and Charlie in 2005 settled in Punta Gorda. Cynthia was a doer. Serving as the Social Secretary for the Burnt Store Isles Association for several years. She found time to be an active volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul and was involved in the startup of the Punta Gorda History Center, serving as Office Manager. She and Charlie were active cruisers, embarking on many trips from both coasts.
Visitation will be at Kays-Ponger funeral home (2405 Harbor Blvd.) on Tuesday, December 27 from 2-6 pm. A funeral mass will be offered at a later date in January. In lieu I of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
A visitation for Cynthia will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 2405 Harbor Blvd, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
A memorial Mass will be held on Friday January 20th at 11AM from Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Punta Gorda
