He was preceded in death by his parents, John Howard and Katherine Odeline Gatlin Alsup, and his sisters, Peggy Ann Hargrove and Geraldine Rutherford.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Alsup of Minor Hill, his sons, Eddie Alsup and wife Charlotte of Minor Hill, and Brad Alsup and wife Marla of Minor Hill, his daughter, Pam Johnson and husband Mike of Somerville, AL, 7 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, 9 great grandchildren, 1 step great grandchild, and several Nieces and Nephews.

The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Jackson Cemetery Fund, 686 Alsup Hollow Rd., Minor Hill, TN 38473.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Jackson Cemetery in Minor Hill, Tennessee.
