He was born in Lester, AL, on July 29, 1944, retired mechanic, he was preceded in death by his parents, William Erskin and Audrey Felicia Gatlin Townsend, his brothers, Joe L. and Ozro Townsend, his sisters, Evelyn Idell Townsend Newton, Lorell Townsend Forsyth and Frances M. Townsend.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home where Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Hester Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Harrison Townsend of Anthony Hill, TN, his brothers, Matthew B. Townsend of Five Points, TN and Chalmus Townsend of Minor Hill, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
