Larry Thorne, age 86 of Minor Hill passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017. He was born July 3, 1931 to the late Thomas Aubrey and Maggie Elizabeth Lawrence Thorne. Larry was retired from the United States Air Force and a Farmer. His wife was the late Peggy Thorne, and he was also preceded in death by his brother, James Everett (Pete) Thorne.
Survivors include his daughters, Peggy Russell and husband Randell, and Debbie Miles and husband Terry, and his son, David Thorne, all of Minor Hill, and his sister, Charlotte Prince and husband John of Athens.
Visitation with the family will be held Monday, January 1, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Burial will follow at Giles Memory Gardens.
Memorial Donations may be made to Minor Hill First Baptist Church, the Giles County Veteran’s Alliance, or the Giles County Honor Guard.
