Dear Phyllis and family, 
Because we've been out of the country for quite some time, we just fund out that Pastor Bill passed away last August. Although it's been years, we have many fond memories of him and his great sense of humor.  I hope you find peace in knowing he had such a gentle but powerful impact on those of us in the congregation.

William Levi...I don't think many people called him by these names.  Mostly just Rev. Bill. What a kind and caring man whose even tones brought solace to all in need.  As a teen and young adult, I didn't always exercise the respect my parents tried to instill in me.  He once reminded me "God is good; God is fair; He gave some people brains; others hair!"  Thank you Rev. Bill for doing so much for so many and God Bless your family for the sacrifices made for all of your congregations.

It has been my pleasure to have known Bill.  He was always so warm and friendly whenever we saw him at Steve and Connie's or just around town. Our prayers go out to Phyllis and the rest of the family during this difficult time.

Mountain View Methodist was never the same after Rev. Woelfle retired,  He was so kind and  considerate.  He will be greatly missed but we have our memories of this special man.

"Mollie Goose Eggs" here.  I never remember the Reverend having anything less than a healthy smile and a bear hug for me while growing up.  I thought hearing about fishing from the pulpit was normal, until I realized other Pastors only talked about fishing in regards to Peter.  My heart goes to the family.

The Rush Co United Methodist Church congrgation was so shocked to hear about Bill passing and are hearts and prayers go out to his family.as all the oldes remember him and enjoyed his sermons and good times with him

Just found out about Bill's passing. We have so many fond memories of Bill. We enjoyed working with him at camp and the many sermons he shared with us. We still use his nickname for our daughter "Mollie Goose Eggs". Never could quite figure out where that came from :).

Dear Woelfle Family,

I just heard about Bill's passing today.  It seems like just yesterday that I was in Church camp at Temple Hills when in Junior High and met Bill and then he became the minister at  Faith Church. From involvement in Sunday school to YF to the Young Adult group, Bill became a very special friend for the years that I lived in Pueblo.  I last saw him at my daughter Richelle's college graduation several years ago. He had a great influence on my life. He was greatly loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him and he will be missed.

I was so sorry to read here about Bill. I had seen him a few months ago here in Pueblo at the Walmart and was so surprised and pleased to get to talk to him for a few minutes. Phyllis and Steve, Don and I loved your dad so much. He was so kind and so helpful to us when we were in Woodland Park. A wonderful man was he. Don and Barb Blehm

Dear Woelfe family, 
I was struck by the fact that Rev. Woelfle had married many couples. My husband Bill and I were married by Rev. Woelfe on 08/24/1969 at Faith United Methododist here in Pueblo. My family had been memebers of the congregration and thought the world of this man. We were sorry to see he and his family move on to another church. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his family.

Dear Phyllis and family, 
I am very sorry about the loss of your husband and father, Bill.  You have an awesome family and I hope all the wonderful memories you have made through the years are of some comfort to you at this very difficult time. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything I can do, please let me know. I was once told you can tell how much someone is loved by how much they are missed - I know Bill is loved very much.

Our sympathy to Steve, Connie and the rest of the family of Bill Woelfle.  We each know that as time passes each of will experience the loss of loved ones, and sometimes we tend to hear, "it's for the best".  But when you lose a beloved mom or dad, even one that's very ill, it's a great loss!  While your hearts are heavy at this time, may you be  be blessed with the great rememberances of by gone happy days.

Dear Phyllis, Steve and family,
I was saddened to learn of Bill's passing.  Since I have only known both Bill and Phylis the last few years, I truly enjoyed their visits during tax season.  
Since my mother knew Phylis from South Park Elementary school and of course, since I knew Steve, the three of us bonded and enjoyed our conversations.
Bill will be greatly missed and please know I share in your loss.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest Woelfle Family,
Where do I begin to describe what Bill was to my family? A pastor, of course, but a dear, dear friend, a confidant, someone got my jokes, gave me hugs when I needed them most and sometimes even when I didn't know myself that I needed a hug! My grandparents and mother thought he was just about the most wonderful thing since peanut butter! He saw me through two weddings (and always said "I got it right the second time!")....and through so many losses in our family. Phyllis, you and Bill were always the first ones I thought of calling when there was a true crisis in my family. 

When Rich and I were married and Rich converted he did so because he said Bill believed in the same God as he did. Bill could make you laugh and cry all in the same sermon. Mom always giggled about the time early on in his time at Faith he brought Playboy magazines to church to back up his sermon....she said "all the old fuddy duddies walked out....Good!" 

We didn't see you very often after your move up the mountain but you were always held close in our hearts. Much love and many prayers to all of you. My mind's eye sees Bill sitting at God's Feet telling some goofy joke...Love you all. Georgi

Sorry to hear of the loss of Uncle Bill. We wish to send heartfelt condolences to the entire family. He will be missed greatly by all of us who knew him.

One of my favorite memories was Bill singing bass with my dad, Clarke, and Art in the church's men's quartet - accompanied by my late mom, Cheryl, and Claude.  What a great time had by all!  I pray for God's comfort to embrace you during this painful time on earth, knowing you will see him again soon in Heaven.

Phyllis and family, I just learned of your great loss and wish to send to you my deepest sympathy. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Rev Bill during the early years of Mountain View United Methodist Church. He was a great inspiration to my family and me.  The world has lost a wonderful person but I am sure he will be happy to join the God he loved and served for all those years.  Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Woefle Family,
I have many memories of Bill as our Pastor in Woodland Park. For starters he was the first person who made me realize that you could laugh in church and that it was o.k. with God to do so!  My other favorite memory is on the Sundays when the Broncos had an early game he would make a comment that he would keep his sermon short so we wouldn't miss any of the game! How many pastors do that??!! Overall Pastor Woefle made a profound difference in my life as a Christian and although I haven't seen him in years I have thought of him often. My thoughts are with all of you as you celebrate the life of this wonderful man.

Rev. Bill, you will be missed.  You were our pastor for many years up in Woodland Park.  I always loved your sermons, they were more like great stories that taught you about life.  Thank you for that.  My condolences to Phyllis and all your family.

Reverend Woelfle was my special buddy.  He called me "Little Darlin" and I called him "Big Darlin" From my very first job at at Davis Mortuary to the day he married me and my husband in such an amazing and personalized ceremony.  He was an awesome man and great friend.  It is with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat that I will say goodbye to my Big Darlin.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers durign this trying time.  Peace Be With You All!!

Hi all,

I lost my dad on Friday and feel compelled to write a few words in remembrance.  He was born in Loveland in 1932 and took great pride in being a “native” Coloradoan. With the exception of going off to college in Nebraska and Ohio he spent his whole life here in has beloved state. He had just celebrated his 59th wedding anniversary with my mom Phyllis and is the father to John, Ann and Frank as well as myself and was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was a fabulous athlete standing out on the Loveland Indian football team as a running back and was known as “Golden Toe” for his field gold and extra point kicking ability. He once bowled a 300 game and carried a plus 200 average when he participated in his bowling league.

He also was a talented fisherman and could work a river way better than Brad Pitt in  “A River Runs Through It”.

Dad was first diagnosed with coronary heart disease in 1973 and had a triple bypass operation in the fall of that year. As part of his recuperation he began walking back and forth to his office that led he to jogging and then becoming a full-fledged runner.  He logged over 25,000 miles and was running well into his 60’s. 

We hardly took a vacation outside of Colorado going up (why would anyone want to leave paradise) and discovered several locations in the state that are still family favorites today. None as special as the Taylor Park area over Cottonwood Pass west of Buena Vista, which is still a destination for family and friends.

Dad was a minister in the E.U.B. church and later in the United Methodist Church. He served in Ellicott, Sterling, Pueblo and Woodland Park. He officiated at dozens if not hundreds of weddings and funerals during his tenure and touched many many lives. One of his greatest pleasures was being one of the founding pastors of the Templed Hills Church Camp in Woodland Park. As a show of appreciation the church allowed him to purchase a lot in 1958 and is the location where he built the original family cabin that was added on to over the years. My mom and dad lived there from 1986 until last fall when we moved them to Pueblo because of his declining health. I’m very happy my mom has decided to move back “up the hill” to the cabin in a couple of weeks. It’s a special place for the family and grandkids.

Dad loved his sports and followed all of the Colorado Teams especially the Broncos, Buffs, Nuggets and Rockies. The Sunday service was known to be cut loose right on time if not a little early if there was an important Bronco game that day.

He was good man. He will be remembered. He will be missed.
