He was preceded in death by his parents Victoria and Joseph Montoya; sisters and brothers Ruby (Bill) Pino, Eloy (Estelle) Montoya, Susan (Joseph) D’Cristina, Eddie (Ruby) Montoya, Paul Montoya, Agnes Chavez; mother and father-in-law Lizzie and Mack Archuletta; nephews William (Butch) Pino, and Dwight (Dooner) Montoya.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Nancy; daughters Vikki (Ted) Speier, Stephanie (Rich) Martinez; grandchildren Avery Speier, Dylan Speier, and Tyler Martinez; brothers and sisters-in-law Obed Chavez, Elizabeth (Duane) Pickering, Theresa (Pat) Pate, Mary Smith, Mack (Peggy) Archuletta; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from Catholic High class of 1949, attended Pueblo Jr. College, and graduated from Colorado University School of Pharmacy class of 1958. He worked as a pharmacist for 40 years in various pharmacies and at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital. He was a veteran of the Korean War, drafted for 8 years, 2 years active and 6 years inactive, 1953 to 1955, and was honorably discharged in 1961.
Bill was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society for 49 years. He loved the Eucharist and his faith, and treasured his family and host of friends.
The family would like to thank his caregivers: niece Deb and John DeLuca, his hospice nurse Christi Martin, and Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care given to Bill.
A Rosary will be held Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 9:30am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at Our Lady of the Meadows. Bill will be laid to rest at Imperial Memorial gardens following mass.
