William "Bill" L. Hamler, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, at the age of 76. Bill was born on March 22, 1948, in Pueblo, CO and raised in Colorado City where he spent his youth surrounded by the warmth of his family and the beauty of the countryside attending Rye High School and Pueblo Community College. Throughout his life, Bill embodied kindness and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bill was a man who never met a stranger. His genuine warmth and welcoming spirit endeared him to everyone he encountered. Whether striking up a conversation with a neighbor or lending a helping hand to a stranger in need, Bill's generosity knew no bounds. His infectious smile and gentle demeanor brightened the lives of those around him, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.
Bill's first passion was hunting, whether he was on the mountain or sharing stories with friends. Alongside Linda, he relished in traveling with friends to numerous locations, but his favorite was Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Bill, Linda and dear friends Dave and Terri golfed multiple coursed both local and international and participated in numerous tournaments.
Throughout his 47 years at the Steel Mill, Bill was known for his strong work ethic and pride in his craft. However, his greatest indulgences were soft serve ice cream and his mother's spaghetti.
Bill's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his memory will forever be cherished and celebrated. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will continue to inspire and uplift those who follow in his footsteps.
