Walter R. Berry was born in Kenosha Wisconsin, June 1, 1924 and passed away Feb. 12, 2014 in Pueblo, Colorado, his home for 68 years. He served in the United States Marines during WW II. He and his brother Don founded the EZ Shop Food Stores and owned 3 other grocery stores. He owned and operated Arval Aviation, and held a private and commercial flying license. He was director of Aviation in the 70’s. For a brief time he lived in California and was director of operations for the Short Stop Stores. He was also director of Finance for the Loaf and Jugs in 1978. He was past president, secretary and treasurer of the Pueblo Country Club, Rotary Club, and numerous other clubs and organizations. He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 1974, and Frances in 2011; children Richard, Christine, Raymond and grandson Gregg, daughter-in-law Mary, brothers Donald and Raymond. He is survived by his children Jean (Jack) Atkinson, Kathie (Gaylon) Williams, Mike Berry, Ross (Sara) Berry, sister Joan, eight Grandchildren, eight Great-grandchildren, step children and grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was an amazing man with many accomplishments. Viewing will be Monday, Feb. 17, from 4-6 pm at Imperial Funeral Home.
