Rose Manzanares

Rose Marie Manzanares, 80, of Pueblo, Colorado, formerly of La Junta, Colorado passed away on March 6, 2023 surrounded by her family, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and great grandma and will be greatly missed. She was born May 22, 1942 In La Junta, Colorado to her parents Cyrus Frank Sherman and Dominga Rose Sherman. She graduated from La Junta High school and was a retired postal carrier of 35 years in Pueblo, Colorado. Upon retirement she enjoyed many years of watching her grandchildren, crocheting blankets and her favorite pastime of reading, often finishing multiple books in 1 weeks time.

She is survived by her Children Ronald Sanchez, Donna(Daniel) Starck, Tobias F.(Diana) Manzanares, Dorothy(Kelly) Sikes; Grandchildren Jennifer(Matthew) Lehman, Andrew Starck, Eli(Michaela) Sikes, John(Anna) Manzanares, Orion Morgan, Gavin Morgan, Jennifer Manzanares. Great GrandChildren Madison Lehman, Blake Lehman, Kalel Sikes and Kayde Sikes; Sister Virginia(Joe) Florez, Sister-in-law Millie Sherman, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; special thank you to nephew Roger Tavarez who always called and checked up on her; Uncle Pablo Gonzales and Cousin Bell Tavarez for stopping through when in Pueblo, she always enjoyed those visits; and her Aunt Lena Evans for years of traditional letters and cards by mail.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her Husband of 39 years Tobias E. Manzanares; Siblings Robert Sherman and Edna Medina and sister-in-law Gloria Gonzales; Son Raymond Anthony Sanchez; Grand children Justin Minniear and Desiree Sanchez and multiple other beloved extended family.

Special thanks to all the countless doctors, nurses, physical therapists and in-home health care who cared for our mom in the past years and days, especially Ronnie Owens and Amanda Owens and all of the The Center at Parkwest staff. You were all a blessing to Rose and our Family.

A celebration / remembrance of Rose’s life will be held at Imperial Memorial Gardens Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery. 5948 SH-78, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. Viewing, prior to service, from 0930 to 1100; Service will begin promptly at 1100 with Reception to follow the graveside Burial.

A visitation for Rose will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. An interment following service will occur Monday, March 13, 2023 at Imperial Memorial Gardens, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005.
