Rodney Ray Slyhoff, 66, passed away March 1, 2021, in Aurora, Colorado. He was the husband of Alice Slyhoff, they shared 47 years of marriage. Born on May 20, 1954, in Cambridge, Nebraska, he was the son of Bill and Agnes Slyhoff.
Rodney was the President of the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce for 33 years. He loved BBQ and baseball, especially the New York Yankees. Rod will be remembered as the founder of the Chili Festival in Pueblo.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Alice; daughters, Katrina (Ben Hill) and Marcy (Richard Lamb);
grandchildren, Kendra, Zane, and Tristyn Baker, Amryn and Caden Manes; great-granddaughter,
Amelia; and sister, Rhonda (Greg) Bohte. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Gage Manes. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2021, in the Ballroom of the Pueblo Convention Center. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
