Robert Grant Graham, age 73, born in Denver Colorado on May 13th 1948, died of a hemorrhagic stroke in Pueblo Colorado on November 25th 2021. He grew up in Golden Colorado while his father worked in the coal mines, and saw Golden grow from a very rough area to what it is today. He joined the Navy and traveled across the Pacific, taking part in the Vietnam War and then finally coming back home to attend college in Greeley, especially loving his art classes. Bob was a talented artist, and created many sketches and paintings over his life. He met Diane Remington of Akron while in Greeley, they fell in love and were married in December of 1973.
He built a beautiful home in Penrose Colorado and lived there with his wife and children, remaining there for the rest of his life, from 1982 until his death. Before that he lived briefly in Florence, Akron, and Lakewood; he traveled all over Colorado for work, and to several other states as well. Bob worked in the insulation field, removing asbestos and other materials from homes and industrial sites, and installing safe insulation. He started his own company, Inspeco, in 1987, out of an office in his garage, and he grew it into a successful company known for high-quality work. He was especially known for his attractive sheet-metal work. He loved sports, and played both softball and baseball frequently all around El Paso and neighboring counties. He worked with his sons on many vintage cars, like the 1966 Ford Fairlane that was an echo of his first car.
Bob's parents were Robert Glen Graham and Ardis Jean Spencer of Golden. They preceded him in death, as did his wife Diane Sue Remington, his brother Michael David Graham, his nephew James Michael Graham, and his son Grant Benjamin Graham. He is survived by his sister Sharon Lynne Scanlon, his sons Nathan James Graham and Andrew Robert Graham, his daughters in law Adrienne Graham and Monica Graham, and several beloved cousins and uncles. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Seth Graham, Mikah Graham, Jack Graham, Keira Graham, James Graham, Ryan Graham, and Mason Graham, as well as seven nieces and nephews. He is survived and remembered also by Diane's family, Ken Remington, Terry Alexander, Karen Shonka, the Oaks clan, and twelve nieces and nephews and their families. He is survived as well by his former spouse Mary Youngblood and her children and grandchildren.
Bob will be remembered at a memorial service at 5:00 pm Friday December 10th, at Imperial Memorial Gardens in Pueblo. He will also have a military interment on Monday December 27th at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
