I lived a very full life. I loved my wife, my patients, my friends and the time I spent with you. Most of all I loved my wife, Diane, who was “the best of the best” for 46+ years. I thank all of you, but I especially want to thank Anna for her 39 years of hard work and dedication to “our” patients.
Please come join in the celebration of my wonderful life.
Richard “Doc” Ratliff
Addendum:
Six months ago Richard would tell you his life was great, and he was doing ok without Jesus. But excruciating pain from a needed hip-replacement, caused him to literally fall on his face and cry out to Jesus for help. Jesus met Richard in the pain.
Friends saw the changes. Anger turned into gentleness and patience. Pride and self-sufficiency made way for humility.
Once he understood why Jesus had suffered, Richard boldly told others about the peace and joy he had been freely given in the midst of horrible pain.
His faith was simple and genuine. He loved talking to Jesus. “Jesus, I’m, a rookie. I don’t really know what I am doing, but I trust you, and I feel your love. Thank You.”
Richard wanted to know more, and while flipping through websites, he found a down-to-earth guy named Swindoll. In a role-reversal, Richard invited Diane to come hear Bible stories and lessons. He admitted that he didn’t believe all the stories in the Bible. But all he really needed was to believe Jesus’ miracles in his life.
Richard would want you all to know that he loved you very much, and he wants to see each and everyone of you again someday.
God bless you and thank you for sharing your life and love with Richard.
John 1:12
