Ray Sanchez, 82, passed away October 9, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Lorraine Sanchez; children Elaine (Mike) Madrid, Patsy (Adam) Rodrigues, Kenney (April Vargas) Sanchez; grandchildren Aubrey (Paul) Vialpando, Vanessa Madrid, Andrew Rodrigues, Amanda Rodrigues, Devin Sanchez, and Shelby Sanchez ; great-grandchildren Peyton Vialpando and Avery Vialpando; siblings George Sanchez, Mildred Flores and Rudy Sanchez also survived by numerous nieces nephews and other family. Ray was preceded in death by his two children Dennis and Sharlene Sanchez. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was very proud that he was assigned to raise the flag every morning. Ray worked at CF & I for 35 years in the wire mill and as a crane man. He, along with his wife, ran several successful business including R & L Grocery, El Comal Restaurant in Pueblo and Rancho Allegre “Taco Rock” in Colorado City.
