Paul Frank Martinez

Born on January 6, 1945, in Lamar, Colorado, Paul was the beloved son of Frank and Josephine Martinez. He grew up in Granada, CO, and graduated from Granada High School. He went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Mechanics from Pueblo Community College.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army as an Airborne Paratrooper, receiving an honorable discharge in 1972. Following his military service, he held several positions throughout his career and was the jack of all trades. He worked as a Nailroom Operator at C.F. & I and later as a mechanic for the U.S. Federal Government at Fort Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, from which he retired in 2005.

A devout member of Holy Family Parish, Paul served as an usher, and lived a life grounded in faith, family, and hard work. He enjoyed spending his free time bowling, fishing, and camping—pastimes that brought him great joy and many lasting memories with loved ones. He also loved a quick trip to Cripple Creek. He was a wonderful, fun loving, hard working, man who loved all his family and helping everyone he knew with any task he could lend a hand on.

He will be remembered as a dedicated worker, a kind soul, and a good man who touched many lives. In his last year he spent battling his illness but still enjoying treasured time together with his loving wife. He will be deeply missed.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Josephine Martinez, brothers; Lawrence Martinez and Tony Martinez, grandmother; Mary Martinez, brother in laws; Bernie Maes, Carlos F. Maes, Ted Maes, George Maes, Joe Maes and Moises Maes,Jr.

Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Grace Maes-Martinez, sisters in law; Esther (Joseph) Jimenez, Liz Hernandez, Kathy Maes, Eva Maes, Charlene Maes and Seffie Maes and Paul's sister; Matilda Tirado.

A funeral for Paul will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005. Following the funeral will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Imperial Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
